A Lesson from the Election
The presidential election brought home a major point we always seem to forget -- our quest for certainty is never achieved. We crave certainty because it's so comforting. We fear uncertainty because it can be painfully disorienting.
Yet surprises happen!
Trump won when it looked like he wouldn't. The stock market was sure to go down if he was elected. Instead, the market reacted positively -- at least in the short-term. We want to know how this will all play out. As frustrated or as elated as we may be, this week shows us we can't.
